PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT — BECOME THE PERSON
PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT
Your 12-Month Leadership Journey
Don't just build a business.
Build the person capable of leading one.
Network marketing is leadership training with a compensation plan behind it.
That means your greatest investment during your first year isn't only learning how to prospect, follow up or sponsor.
It is developing YOU.
Over the next 12 months, we're going to take you on a deliberate personal-development journey.
You aren't just going to read these books.
You're going to use them.
HOW WE LEARN
Every book in this journey follows the same simple process:
READ OR LISTEN
↓
TAKE NOTES
↓
APPLY
↓
TEACH
↓
DUPLICATE
Reading gives you information.
Application begins changing you.
Teaching what you've learned begins changing others.
That's where leadership and duplication begin.
MONTH 1 — THE COMPOUND EFFECT
By Darren Hardy
Your leadership journey begins with your daily choices.
Learn how small actions, repeated consistently over time, can produce dramatically different results.
Start developing the habits, discipline and consistency required to build something that lasts.
Leadership lesson: Small choices become big results.
MONTH 2 — HOW TO WIN FRIENDS AND INFLUENCE PEOPLE
By Dale Carnegie
Leadership is about people.
Learn how to listen, communicate, appreciate others, handle disagreements and build stronger relationships.
These principles will affect every conversation you have — in your business and in your life.
Leadership lesson: Learn how to genuinely connect with people.
MONTH 3 — THINK AND GROW RICH
By Napoleon Hill
Now we begin working on vision, desire, belief, persistence and definite purpose.
Decide what you want, why you want it and what you're willing to consistently do to move toward it.
Leadership lesson: Purpose gives direction to action.
MONTH 4 — THE 21 IRREFUTABLE LAWS OF LEADERSHIP
By John C. Maxwell
It's time to begin studying leadership itself.
Learn principles of influence, trust, priorities, empowerment, momentum and developing others.
Leadership lesson: Leadership is influence.
MONTH 5 — THE SLIGHT EDGE
By Jeff Olson
Return to the power of simple daily disciplines.
The actions that create success are often easy to do — and just as easy not to do.
Learn to consistently make the small choices that move your life and business in the right direction.
Leadership lesson: Success lives in your daily disciplines.
MONTH 6 — GOOD TO GREAT
By Jim Collins
Begin looking beyond yourself and thinking about organizations, teams, culture and lasting excellence.
Learn why disciplined people, disciplined thought and disciplined action matter when building something larger than yourself.
Leadership lesson: Great organizations are built intentionally.
MONTH 7 — THE MAGIC OF THINKING BIG
By David J. Schwartz
Don't allow today's circumstances to determine tomorrow's possibilities.
Expand your vision, strengthen your confidence and learn to think beyond your present limitations.
Leadership lesson: Bigger thinking creates bigger possibilities.
MONTH 8 — DEVELOPING THE LEADER WITHIN YOU 2.0
By John C. Maxwell
Before you can effectively lead others, you must continue developing the leader within yourself.
Focus on priorities, character, self-discipline, vision and personal growth.
Leadership lesson: Leadership begins on the inside.
MONTH 9 — DEVELOPING THE LEADERS AROUND YOU
By John C. Maxwell
This is a major transition in your journey.
Leadership is no longer only about becoming better yourself.
Begin learning how to recognize potential, encourage people, mentor them and help them become leaders.
Leadership lesson: Leaders develop leaders.
MONTH 10 — THE GO-GIVER
By Bob Burg and John David Mann
Finish the reading portion of your first-year journey by returning leadership to its proper foundation: serving and creating value for other people.
Leadership isn't about being the most important person in the room.
It's about helping other people grow and succeed.
Leadership lesson: Lead by serving others.
MONTH 11 — APPLY WHAT YOU'VE LEARNED
No new book this month.
Go back through your notes from the previous ten months.
Identify the principles that made the greatest difference in your thinking, habits, relationships and leadership.
Then deliberately put those principles to work.
Leadership lesson: Knowledge becomes valuable when it becomes action.
MONTH 12 — TEACH WHAT YOU'VE LEARNED
This is where your first-year journey comes full circle.
Look for someone you can help.
Share the principles you've learned.
Help another person develop better habits, stronger people skills, greater confidence and leadership ability.
And then teach that person to do the same for someone else.
LEARN IT.
LIVE IT.
TEACH IT.
DUPLICATE IT.
WHERE ARE WE GOING?
Twelve months from now, the goal isn't simply to say you've finished ten books.
The goal is to look back and realize:
I developed better habits.
I became better with people.
I strengthened my thinking.
I became more disciplined.
I learned how leadership works.
I learned to think bigger.
I learned to lead myself.
I learned to develop others.
I learned to lead through service.
I began teaching others what I learned.
You're becoming a leader.
YOUR BUSINESS CAN ONLY GROW SO FAR
UNTIL YOU GROW.
READ/LISTEN → TAKE NOTES → APPLY → TEACH → DUPLICATE
The leadership and duplication philosophy throughout this training carries forward principles taught by Silas King III through Duplication Station.
Silas understood that this business was about far more than recruiting. It was about personal growth, leadership development and ultimately helping other people become leaders themselves.
